Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medication, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Duties include handling credit card payments according to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS). In addition to the normal background check, a credit check screening will be completed in compliance with Dignity Health policy.
Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program required
Able to perform basic mathematical and algebraic calculations
Familiar with computers
Pharmacy Technician Registeration required (California State Board of Pharmacy)
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred
